How Do I Use Internet Business Marketing To Convert Traffic Into …

by: Mike Calmot

Having lots of traffic to your website does not necessarily equal sales. If you do find yourself in this situation of having good traffic but no sales then there are a few things you could do to change all that.

If people are coming to your website and you are not making sales then you may be doing something wrong. When doing internet business marketing there are a few basic principles that you need to have in mind. The first thing you may want to do is to review your sales page. Does it need to be more persuasive or more informal? If you don’t have the skill to do the review then funds permitting, you may want to consider hiring a professional copyrighter.

Internet business marketing is all about converting visitors from your website into buyers. If you haven’t done so already, add a ‘call to action’ to your website which means you actually tell the visitor what you want him to do. Many times this is the only thing you need to start having sales. Check the sites of your most successful competitors and there it is!

If you did make a few sales however, make sure you ask your customers for testimonials and if they’re really good, place them on the site. If they are not, correct the problem right away.

People are more likely to buy your product if it is recommended by your customers.

It’s an old adage, but make them ‘an offer they can’t refuse’. Add bonuses to your main product so it’s a very good value for the price you are asking. You could also make the bonuses available for a limited time only, that way your visitors will be more likely to buy from you on their first visit. If you are going to use this tactic, make sure that it is genuine and that you do withdraw them otherwise you may lose credibility.

You will also want to make sure that your site is very easy to navigate and especially test and check that everything is functioning correctly. You don’t want to lose your customers over something like that. People will not search every corner of your website to see if you have something for sale. So be sure to make visiting your website a simple and pleasant journey.

Another important factor is the visual appeal of the site. If you have a well designed site with pictures and bullets, people will be more willing to go through and read your content and ultimately buy your product. Be careful here, as regards squeeze pages, sometimes “less is more”.

Combine all your internet business marketing effort to make your website attractive, simple and easy to use and if you’ve sorted the traffic, the sign ups or sales should come rolling in!
